When a child has to stay in hospital for weeks or months, they can't go to school. Project Luma makes sure they can keep learning. We train and verify high-school volunteers, then match each one with a child in hospital for friendly, one-to-one lessons.
Children who are in hospital and can't attend school, and their families. A parent or guardian asks for lessons, and nothing happens without their consent.
High-school volunteers who are ID-verified, background-checked and safeguarding-trained. In return they earn IE University recognition and community-service hours.
Whatever helps them most, at their own pace: reading and numbers, drawing, music, science, building things, or help with school subjects.
Project Luma launches in 2026. Right now we're recruiting our first volunteers and hospital partners.
